We are based just down the road at Port Motueka, so Motueka is home ground and usually where we can get to fastest. We know the flat horticultural country around the river and the steeper lifestyle blocks up in the valleys behind town, and how differently those two behave in a wet winter. Plenty of our driveway, water table and mulching work happens within a few minutes of the yard.

Nelson brings a lot of hillside sections, tight urban access and banks that need retaining before anything else can happen. That is where the 2.7 tonne machine earns its keep, getting through standard gateways and down the side of houses where the bigger gear has no chance. We also do a good amount of slip repair and rock wall work around the hill suburbs after heavy rain.

Golden Bay means the hill, so we plan Takaka jobs to make the trip worthwhile, usually by grouping a few days of work together. It is scrub and gorse country in a lot of places, so the forestry mulcher does most of the travelling over there, along with track work and water table clearing on properties where the rain comes hard and the access roads take a hammering.
